Farmers Planting

Rice is the basic food in the Philippines. Before thinking of another dish like fish, meat, vegetables, etc. Boiled rice is the one being prioritized first. I remember the words of my parents from the past; “It's okay not to have a viand or just salt, as long as there is boiled rice to eat.” Yes, for us Filipinos, there will be no satisfying meal without boiled rice.

Be reminded that rice crops should be in soil with water or maybe a wet one. From what I noticed, rice fields have irrigation where the water can flow beside. That's why, unlucky for those rice fields in the lowest part because they will be the last to receive the water.

Anyhow, actually, it's not about the knowledge of the rice fields and rice crops. I know it's not new to most people, especially in our country, the Philippines. What I just wanted to brag about are the images that captivated me. This kind of photo is what I truly love as a photographer; street photography, life happenings, and stolen shots from random people.

Of course, there should be a little information or maybe caption them with short ones. Like, this season is the rice planting but there will be another season at the end of 3 months. According to the farmers, 3 times a year they plant rice crops, and they can be harvested in 3 months. Although technology has made planting earlier so there are those types of rice that can be harvested for a 1 month or 2 months. Not that sure since I only relied on information from farmers in the neighborhood.

Some people discriminate against the farmer even though they understand that without them there will be no food on the table. Well, it can't be helped because those who have more money are the superior ones. Well, in my opinion or maybe my own experience, I'm not farmer nor a rich one. I love farming because it's relaxing even though sometimes it's kind of tiring. Still, I enjoyed it.

This is really true that without rice, viand is nothing something like that. We, Filipinos are into rice - it's our staple food. From morning to evening, rice is serve. And we can't be full without it hihi.
