Terrestrial African Wild

Africa is blessed with a lot of plants. Most if these plants can be found in the wild and only those who knows the importance go for them. Some of these wild plants could serve as herbs or food.
Welcome to a random shot of wild plants that serves the sub-region. This plant is now far from existence in some part of Africa. The reason is because of real estate development in terrestrial habitat.

This first plant is a wild African tomato. This species is not the usual round tomato. It bears fruits like cucumber and when they are ripe, they could make a delicious soup or stew.

To have one grown in your garden or around your homestead is a blessing. This particular one grew as a weed and upon discovering it, I decided to stake a log for it to crawl with its tentacles and then, bear fruits. It will be my first and then, I will keep the seeds for the next season, when I would have a complete session of my garden dedicated to it.

Here. The seed leaf of Lagos Spinach. This vegetable is commonly found among the Yoruba people. They make use of it in preparing a very special kind of soup. Elsewhere, this is used to make home surroundings beautiful as flowers.
The first time I learned that this is used in preparing soup, I laughed it over. Much later, I found it a delicacy as much as a flower.

This plant usually grow as weed through pollination by grasshoppers.

Thick green plant used as herbs against malaria. The flower is the only part of it that is sweet. Time ago, long long ago, we used to suck the nectar of this lower. Though, it grows in the wild, it sweetens the taste bud.

Bees can be seen perching on this flower to suck it nectar too.

Garden eggs to are nutritious. This is a particularly wild garden egg. It grew here through pollination.
The yellowness of this fruit is not because of the absence of the sun but a sign of maturity.
Different species of this crop exist and are edible. The greenish one is the most nutritious.

One of the fastest moving butterflies you can ever shoot with a camera. I had to follow this one till it settled on a drying grass to take a shot.
Butterflies around here stay gar away. You can only see them around where there is heavy rain. With the rays of light, emanating from the bulb, butterflies would be attracted and perch.

Purple blue flower. For fresh bleeding injuries, this wild flower can serve as iodine. Some more mature species of the wild flower could turn violet as they mature.

A sumptuous nectar only attracting small insects, especially the black ant.

There are really amazing wild beauty that your camera can catch in the wild. We take passion in keeping this in our archives before they go into extinction because of development.
Our environment deserve attention. No one would give it the needed attention if not you. Like we were told, the world we meet today was kept by someone. To keep a better world for those coming behind us, there is need to keep what we have around today.
Basically, many things are being destroyed. This has caused the world a lot of pain.
