Sometimes the best decision one can make is to let go of control and allow the light to do its work.

A veces la mejor decisión que uno puede tomar es soltar el control y dejar que la luz haga su trabajo.

I turned off the flash that night. Not out of laziness, not out of mistake, but because the miniteca lights had already taken over the place. They painted the room with beams, shadows, and sudden bursts that no artificial light could ever match.

Apagué el flash esa noche. No por flojera, no por error, sino porque las luces de la miniteca ya se habían adueñado del lugar. Pintaban el salón con haces, sombras y destellos repentinos que ninguna luz artificial podía igualar.

The camera started to see differently. Faces appeared half hidden, bodies outlined like silhouettes in motion, and every shot felt raw, almost untamed. It wasn’t the clean perfection of a staged photo, but the wild truth of a party at its peak.

La cámara empezó a ver distinto. Rostros a medio esconder, cuerpos delineados como siluetas en movimiento, y cada disparo se sentía crudo, casi indomable. No era la perfección pulida de una foto preparada, sino la verdad salvaje de una fiesta en su punto más alto.

Sometimes, stepping back from control gives you more than you expect. The light became my ally, and the shadows, my secret. But I still wonder—was it me who captured the night, or was it the night that decided to show itself that way?

A veces, soltar un poco el control te da más de lo que esperas. La luz se volvió mi aliada, y las sombras, mi secreto. Pero aún me pregunto: ¿fui yo quien capturó la fiesta, o fue la fiesta la que decidió mostrarse así?
