Hay una especie de magia en el lente de 50mm, es como ver el mundo tal cual lo ven tus ojos, pero con un poquito más de alma.

The depth of field, the bokeh, that creamy blur that turns a background into pure emotion — it makes every detail feel personal. It’s not about having the most expensive gear; it’s about knowing how to use what you’ve got.

Es un pedacito de vidrio sencillo, pequeño, humilde, pero apenas miras por él, todo cambia. La profundidad de campo, el bokeh, ese desenfoque cremoso que convierte un fondo en pura emoción… hace que cada detalle se sienta personal. No se trata de tener el equipo más caro, sino de saber usar lo que tienes.

In a wedding, the 50mm becomes almost invisible — it lets you get close without being uninvited, and still gives you that softness that turns a moment into a memory. You capture a tear, a smile, the hands meeting, the chaos of the dance floor — all with that gentle light that only this lens knows how to tame.

En una boda, el 50mm se vuelve casi invisible, te deja acercarte sin ser una molestia, y aun así te regala esa suavidad que convierte un momento en un recuerdo. Capturas una lágrima, una sonrisa, las manos que se encuentran, el desorden de la pista — todo con esa luz mansa que solo este lente sabe domar.

It’s funny how a single focal length can make you see differently. You start to appreciate distances, light, and faces in another way. Maybe that’s why so many photographers call it “the honest lens.” Because it doesn’t forgive mistakes — it just shows things as they are, beautifully.

Curioso cómo una sola distancia focal te puede cambiar la mirada. Empiezas a valorar las distancias, la luz, los rostros de otra manera. Quizás por eso muchos fotógrafos lo llaman “el lente honesto”, porque no perdona errores, solo te muestra las cosas como son, de forma hermosa.

And maybe that’s the question — is it really the lens that makes the photo, or is it the way we decide to look at the world through it?

Y tal vez esa sea la pregunta — ¿es realmente el lente el que hace la foto, o es la forma en que decidimos mirar el mundo a través de él?
