Sometimes the lens decides for you. You look through the viewfinder thinking everything is in focus, and suddenly the world around you becomes a blur while the subject in front of you remains sharp, almost challenging you. That stubbornness of the manual 50mm lens has its charm: it forces you to breathe differently, to respect the moment, to shoot with more than just your pulse.

A veces el lente decide por uno. Uno mira por el visor creyendo que todo está cuadrado, y de pronto el mundo alrededor se vuelve una mezcla difusa mientras el personaje al frente queda firme, casi desafiándote. Esa necedad del 50mm manual tiene su gracia: te obliga a respirar distinto, a respetar el momento, a disparar con algo más que pulso.

In this series, I wanted to play with layers, letting my main characters remain sharp while the surroundings surrendered to that delightful blur that only a vintage manual lens can provide. It's easy to lose focus, but achieving that precise moment where the sharpness falls exactly right requires patience, stubbornness, and a touch of luck.

En esta serie quise jugar con las capas, dejar que mis personajes principales quedaran nítidos mientras el entorno se entregaba a ese desenfoque gustoso que solo un lente manual vintage sabe regalar. Es sencillo perder el foco, pero lograr ese instante preciso donde la nitidez cae exacta requiere paciencia, tozudez y un toque de suerte.

After several attempts, there is always one photo that decides to fall into place. The one that comes into focus as if it knew from the start where to stand. And when it appears, it breaks with tradition, elevates the character of the entire series, and leaves us wondering: could it be that blurring also has its own instinct?

Después de varios intentos, siempre hay una foto que decide alinearse. Esa que cae en foco como si hubiera sabido desde el principio dónde pararse. Y cuando aparece, rompe con lo tradicional, levanta el carácter de toda la serie y deja la duda picando: ¿será que el desenfoque también tiene su propio instinto?
