There was a time when wedding photos were all about posture — straight backs, serious faces, and perfect symmetry. But now, something’s changed.

Hubo un tiempo en que las fotos de boda eran puras posturas: espaldas rectas, caras serias y una simetría perfecta. Pero hoy, algo cambió.

Now those family and friends portraits feel alive. People laugh, make faces, throw up peace signs, or hug in the middle of the shot. What used to be a rigid formality has turned into a space to let go, to show that happiness doesn’t always have to be posed — sometimes, the best photos come from the mess.

Ahora esas fotos con los familiares y amigos se sienten vivas. La gente se ríe, hace muecas, lanza la “V” de la victoria o se abraza en medio del cuadro. Lo que antes era un acto formal, hoy es un momento para soltarse, para dejar que la alegría salga sin orden ni permiso… porque a veces las mejores fotos nacen del desorden.

As a photographer, you learn to anticipate those moments — a sudden laugh, a look between friends, a grandparent raising a glass. Each small gesture tells more than any perfect pose ever could. These are the kind of shots that carry warmth, the ones that people keep framed because they remind them not of the event, but of how they felt.

Como fotógrafo uno aprende a esperar esos instantes — una carcajada repentina, una mirada entre amigos, un abuelo alzando su copa. Cada gesto, por pequeño que parezca, cuenta más que cualquier pose perfecta. Son esas fotos las que guardan el calor del momento, las que la gente termina enmarcando porque no les recuerdan el evento… sino lo que sintieron.

Times change, and so do traditions. The wedding album is no longer a collection of perfect smiles — it’s a diary of genuine joy, full of wrinkles, laughter, and spontaneity. Maybe that’s what photography has always been about: keeping the truth of a moment, no matter how imperfect it looks.

Los tiempos cambian y las tradiciones también. El álbum de bodas ya no es un catálogo de sonrisas perfectas, sino un diario de alegría genuina, lleno de arrugas, risas y espontaneidad. Quizás de eso se ha tratado siempre la fotografía: de guardar la verdad de un instante, sin importar qué tan imperfecto se vea.

And maybe that’s the real question — have we stopped posing for the camera, or have we finally started showing who we really are?

Y tal vez esa sea la verdadera pregunta — ¿dejamos de posar para la cámara, o por fin empezamos a mostrarnos como realmente somos?
