There’s always a moment at weddings that sparks laughter, excitement, and a good bit of chaos — the garter toss. A playful and slightly mischievous tradition that gets the crowd cheering as the groom dives in to find the prize.

Siempre hay un momento en las bodas que prende la chispa de la emoción, de las risas y hasta del alboroto: el lanzamiento del liguero. Es una tradición llena de picardía sana, donde el novio se lanza —literalmente— a buscar ese detalle escondido que todos esperan con ansias.

With the guests watching and cheering, the groom disappears partially beneath the bride’s dress to retrieve the garter. Then comes the toss — flying through the air and landing straight into someone’s hands. It's a short scene, but one that everyone remembers. In this series, I captured the suspense, the joy, and the exact moment the garter floated mid-air.

Mientras los invitados aplauden y gritan, el novio se mete un poco debajo del vestido de la novia para sacar el liguero. Luego lo lanza, y el liguero vuela por el aire hasta caer en las manos de un afortunado. Es un momento breve, pero inolvidable. En esta serie de fotos logré atrapar esa emoción, la alegría y hasta el preciso segundo en que el liguero se quedó suspendido en el aire.

To wrap it up, I also caught the happy groom posing with the man who caught the garter — a perfect photo to close out this small but iconic ritual. Whether you believe in the superstition behind it or just enjoy the laughs, it’s a moment worth freezing in time.

Para cerrar, también logré una foto donde el novio posa contento junto al señor que agarró el liguero. Una imagen que completa esta tradición divertida y simbólica. Creas o no en lo que dice la costumbre, lo que sí es seguro es que se goza un montón.
