It's not always easy to get into the spirit of a party, especially when young people put up their own walls of energy.

No siempre es fácil entrar en el corazón de una fiesta, sobre todo cuando los jóvenes levantan sus propias murallas de energía.

There’s something curious about young people at parties: they dance close, shoulder to shoulder, like building walls with their own bodies. For a photographer, breaking into that circle is almost like trying to cross a border without an invitation.

Hay algo curioso en los jóvenes en las fiestas: bailan pegados, hombro con hombro, como levantando murallas con sus propios cuerpos. Para un fotógrafo, romper ese círculo es casi como intentar cruzar una frontera sin invitación.

I watched them from the outside, searching for cracks, for moments where the light slipped between their movements. Sometimes I managed to steal a frame, other times I had to wait, patient, like a fisherman hoping the river would open up.

Los observaba desde afuera, buscando grietas, momentos en los que la luz se colara entre sus movimientos. A veces lograba robar un cuadro, otras tenía que esperar, paciente, como un pescador que aguarda a que el río se abra.

And yet, in that stubborn closeness, there’s truth: the fire of youth doesn’t leave space, it consumes the whole dance floor. But I still wonder—are those walls meant to keep others out, or simply to hold their world together for as long as the music lasts?

Y sin embargo, en esa cercanía terca hay verdad: el fuego de la juventud no deja espacio, se consume toda la pista. Pero aún me pregunto: ¿esas murallas serán para mantener a otros afuera, o para sostener su mundo mientras dure la música?
