From Lima to La Paz: a journey through heights, cultures, and emotions

A few days ago, I embarked on a trip I had been dreaming about for a long time. I left Lima and headed for Bolivia, crossing highland landscapes that seem to come from another planet and connecting with cultures that, although neighboring, surprised me with their richness and authenticity.

First stop: Puno 🏔️

From Lima, I arrived in Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The cold, dry air welcomed me as a reminder that I was entering a new dimension of the journey. Walking through its streets, seeing the lake stretching to the horizon, and feeling the calm that surrounds it was an almost spiritual experience. Puno is a place that forces you to slow down and look deeper.

Heading to La Paz 🇧🇴

From Puno, I set off for La Paz, a city unlike any other. Not only because of its geography—with its steep streets, views from the cable cars, and altitude that leaves you breathless, literally and figuratively—but also because of the unique energy it exudes.

My experience in La Paz

In La Paz, you can breathe in history. From the colonial facades to the traditional markets, every corner has a story to tell. But what struck me most were the people: friendly, open, always willing to share a word, a smile, directions, or a story.

I strolled through the city center, took the cable car to see the city from above, tried dishes I had never tasted before, and above all, I felt that this place spoke to me. Not as a tourist, but as someone who is there to learn, observe, and connect.

This trip reminded me how much we gain when we move with an open heart. Every place has a lesson, and every person we meet along the way has something to teach us.

The photos I'm sharing attempt to capture a part of what I experienced (although, honestly, some things can only remain in the soul).

Thank you, Bolivia, for your history, your beauty, and your people.

I'll be back.
