The oldest university still in existence in Asia is the University of Santo Tomas (UST). It is the largest Catholic university in the world with the most students on one campus. Bishop Miguel de Benavides, O.P., the third Archbishop of Manila, took the effort to found the institution. He left his library and a sum of 1,500 pesos on July 24, 1605, to support the founding of a "seminary college" that would train young men for the priesthood. These assets and his library served as the foundation for the founding of UST and its library.

The first floor was an exhibit titled "ORASYON" the exhibit that aims to rekindle Filipino Tradition

The display honors the Filipino customs depicted in the paintings while also serving as a reminder of devotion, a custom carried out at dawn, noon, and twilight that permitted family members to get together and give thanks to our Lord. "

The Paintings and sculptures are somehow related to the Lord, the themes show heaven, angels, sky, and Filipino traditions.

When I explored the hallways I saw some animal replicas and was astonished.

The next exhibit was located on the 2nd floor and in this gallery I saw some historical figures, memorabilia, and paintings as well as traditional instruments from different countries which allowed me to gain some knowledge about the past and how they are so important in modern days.

I felt goosebumps in this painting of Hidalgo. It was a portrait of a Lady, I was deeply amused by how he portrayed this amazing piece. Every stroke is full of emotions every detail will leave you wondering. Staring at this painting makes me want to be present in that specific scene, something that I can't explain.

This museum visit made me more inspired to create more artworks and pieces.

Museum always makes me feel alive! ❣

Thank you for reading, till next time 😉

Mooon out! 🤙
