Art talk: Pinto Art Museum
Yo Hivers!
Last May, I witnessed the beauty of the Pinto art museum the best museum you can visit here in Antipolo Rizal, Philippines in celebration of National Museum Day all visitors are entitled to a free entrance.
The regular entrance fee costs 4.97 USD (280 Php).
I've visited a lot of museums but this one is on a different level, the ambiance, the galleries, the arts and it is quite spacious.
Museum visits made me realize something I can't explain but it satisfies my soul.
I also visited museums for education and learning. Museums offer a wealth of knowledge about history, art, science, and culture. It's an opportunity to learn about different topics engagingly and interactively aside from that, I want to be more inspired and unleash my creativity
The museum is located in the middle of the forest aside from art you can also able to feel the fresh air from trees and plants.
These are some collections of the Burial Jar:
The Bulol Collection
The bulol, or "Ifugao rice god," is a carved human figurine into which a certain class of anito is said to incorporate itself when worshipped. Bulols are kept in the house or granary and are usually made in pairs. They are carved of narra wood, which represents wealth, happiness, and well-being.
They look scary, right? I can tell you that the scariest aside from this bulul collection is the price of it, yeah it costs 600K USD and it is equivalent to 36 Million Philippine pesos.
Philippine Native Tribe Collections
There is also a gallery for Native accessories spoons, forks, plates, bowls, Necklaces, and bracelets.
It showcased the craftsmanship of our ancestors, I can say that they are truly artistic.
Now, I'm gonna tour you to the gallery of paintings.
(Gallery 1-6)
the artworks in this gallery are painted by Emmanuel Garibay He's not that famous, however, I love his artworks I can say that his piece contains a series of works that was critical of the rituals, rites, and norms of established and traditional religious worship specifically the ones that practiced by Filipino Catholics.
I thought there were only a few paintings displayed but when I continue walking through I spotted a lot of extraordinary artworks.
This artworks are new to me, this is my first time to see this kind of art.
Art using lightbox, I'm amazed at this, to be honest, I'm pretty sure the process for this artwork is not easy not to mention the expenses for each artwork.
Zacarias Art Hall
This gallery is composed of a mixed medium of art which I can say is the most intriguing with a glimpse of subliminal messages, or I should say Dark art.
It emphasizes the darkness, for me it simply illustrates violence, death, or the afterlife.
Contemporary Arts or the "The art of today " Basically it is the art of this modern era and this Museum has a lot of contemporary artists that invite to showcase their masterpieces.
Incredibly amazing right? I was amazed to see these artworks as well, proud to say that Filipinos loved art.
Take a look at this piece at first I thought it was just a normal eggshell however when I observe it closely I noticed that there was something inside basically, this is a womb where the baby develops before birth.
Same with this one perhaps a little bit more detailed.
I found these pieces of art quite creepy, but I appreciate them so much especially this is from artists with creative minds.
*Take a look at this photo lol, the girl looks like have a pair of wings haha the timing is just perfect *
This hallway is iconic, an instragammable background.
Sculptures
They were so perfect! the details, form, texture, and compositions.
I can't stop staring at them. Goosebumps!
The museum has also a room full of Matchbox cars, it is amazing I wonder how many cars they used for this I guess thousands of cars or millions? I don't know lol!
Visiting Museums can challenge one's perspectives and encourage people to think critically about the world around them, for me, It's a form of escapism, it allows me to travel from different worlds and take a break from stressful everyday life.
Thank you guys for reading.
Always remember that an Earth without ART is just "EH" - Unknown
Peace out! 🤙
Ps. All photos are owned by me, otherwise credited.
WOW! Everything looks so great. Lucky you were able to capture photos of these artworks. Some museums don't allow you to so I'm enjoying this tour, thanks to your photos. 😄
The art using lightbox is quite intriguing. It looks kinda difficult to achieve that.
The dark art area also caught my attention.
Glad that They allow it, however, touching artwork is strictly prohibited.
Dark art is somehow creepy eh
Been to Pinto once, indeed a great museum. I remember it was during a hot humid day, which can be challenging. Definitely some place worth revisiting, especially with other art enthusiasts. :)
It is really indeed a wonderful museum
Wow thanks for sharing the art and this museum with us.
