Wednesday walk around empty Kalemegdan

Something that was always interesting to me in Belgrade, is that even though it's a big city, you can't see too many people down town early in the day. Most stores work from 9, so if you happened to walk in Knez Mihailova (most famous and crowded street) around 8, you will most likely be alone. Well, not literally alone, but you get my point.

On this occasion I happened to be early, and had an extra half an hour, and as I was in the city centre, I decided to use my extra time to have a walk on the Kalemegran fortress. I was very surprised to see how empty it was. I almost could of walked there and see no other soul, as if there was an apocalipse and not a cold early morning. To be fair, I was mostly surprised because it was not that early at all, but it was cold, so I assume that was the reason. I only saw a few dog walkers, and some fellow photographers, which made me realise two things. I really want to have a dog who can take walks with me, and once I get a camera, I should come back in the early morning and make better photos.

You can see how cold it was by the frost on the flowers. I also took some photos of the frost on the chess table.

It was really strange seeing Kalemegdan this empty, I never saw it like this before. But since it was quiet and peaceful, I saw some friends that I usually don't see there. Squirells. Photos are bad since I had to be quick and she was moving, but I still want to show you. Beside them, I also took some photos of the birds.

I took the most photos of the views and of the monument which is very known, the Victor and of the empty views. It was great to be able to just take photos, not caring how to catch the best view and the less people, because there was not any. I was glad to find a nice spot with great view, which I didn't noticed before as I usually go to the less crowded parts of the Kalemegdan. It was bench with great view of the monument and the rivers, but I assume its empty only at this time.

I also tried to make a panorama photo of the river view.

I really enjoyed this unexpected walk as I could see Kalemegan in the new way, how I never saw it before. This post is for the #WednesdayWalk by @tattoodjay

This is also my fifth post for the #HiveBloPoMo challenge.

Thank you for reading my post ^^
