This is my entry for today's Monomad Challenge, Looking for ducks.

I changed lenses and went back to the park, but this time with the clear intention of taking pictures of the ducks. The truth is that in the previous post, I wasn't satisfied with the photos I had taken of these feathered creatures bathing in the wetland.

As I began to descend to one of the areas where I like to take photographs, I saw this pair of ducks. Although they were against the light, I managed to take the photograph, quite well I think.

When they saw me they flew away, and one of the larger ducks was resting, so I took the following photograph. I think I captured a very tender moment with the duck.

I couldn't resist taking photos of its feet. It caught my attention, and since I could take the photo, I didn't hesitate to do so.

While I waited to see what else it would do besides rest, a new duck came swimming by. It had a rather serious expression, as if it were looking for trouble, although in reality it was just passing through.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps to one side. It was a new duck coming to drink water. It wasn't the best photo, and I only had time to take one picture before it entered the water and swam away.

I started walking around the wetland and found a new duck resting under the shade of some bushes. It didn't even bother with my presence.

I finally found an egg, and I'm honest when I say that I was tempted to take it and bring it home. I thought it would be a good experiment to incubate the egg, but since I was taking photographs, I decided that I shouldn't interfere. If I had been hunting, it would have been a different story, but no matter how good my intentions are, it's better not to interfere with nature.

After that, I spent almost three hours relaxing and taking photographs that I will show in other posts, mainly because I took almost 150 photographs and I want to edit each one of them to my liking. Some will be in full color. What really caught my attention was the following bird. Its color was quite ugly, but it sang with a beauty that I have rarely heard before. The sky clouded over a bit, and the bird was in the shadows. It wasn't a very good time to take pictures, but as a personal challenge, I am willing to invest the time necessary until I can take a good picture of it.

I'll end this post with this photo of the turtle, as a teaser. At that moment, I was taking photos of a beautiful dance of geese on the water. I was even tempted to change lenses to capture everything, but I was there more for the details than for the whole context. I'll share those photos with you later.

Nice shoots, and it makes me remembered of those ducks that my daughters have before.
