Nature and creativity often times work side by side. While walking on the streets it is easy to pickup inspiration from the nature around us. Having a beautiful earth with lovely landscape, oceans and gardens are something an advantage. We create beauty from beholding such serene environment. Recently I saw a lady's embellishment of a dress with sand beads and the direction of the embroidery looked like a flowing stream. It was beautiful to behold. Most of these creativity are what we have drawn from our natural environment.

You must seen flowers and leaf designs on clothes, we can chose to do the designs with any fashion material and other times out garment industries print these flowers directly into a fabric.

Recently we have seen some designs been named after what inspired us to cut those designs in that manner.
I have heard of a butterfly 🦋 blouse or dress for a while now and had wanted to practice sewing something like that. I digged into the internet to see what the design looks like and noticed that it was either a blouse or dress sewn in excessive at the bust or waist.
Even though it was called a butterfly blouse the outfits weren't like a dress with some form of wings for us to fly with😃.

Maybe I will make a proper butterfly dress in the future with wings but for now I want to learn how to make the simplest butterfly blouse.

I laid my fabrics out in the manner that I feel that it will will give me the shape I was imagining. After marking it out, I had double and triple feeling about what the result will be if I cut this out, this is one fabric I love so much because of the print and do not wish to destroy it practicing something new.

Then I remembered how a fellow needleworker use to practice with waste material first and borrowed her idea. Maybe to practice with a lesser disposable fabric is the best suggestion, but I don't have any of those in the house...

What I did next was get this dress that is no longer in use. Rip out the lower part and spread it to draw my pattern on it.

It was much easier and less risky to cut this one

I started with my measurements on it and realized that it won't be enough to sew my size. Hence I cut out a smaller measurement

Next was sewing in which I also marked out the space where the sleeves will sit for an armhole

After joining the seams, I noticed the places that needs to be adjusted to give me a better blouse

In the end I realized that the fabric I had thought that it will be a waste product wasn't so bad after all and will still look beautiful on any 3year old. The color of the fabric was still bright and I did learnt what I needed to with it.

An important thing is that I won't be wasting this dress but my cute little niece will have something to wear. While I can now proceed to make my own, either in similar fashion or with more improvement from what I have learnt.

Thank you so much for stopping by, hope we are having some good time with our various projects.

Butterfly dresses or blouse are one of the easiest and straight forwards to make dresses, did you call that beautiful fabric a waste? Lol your niece would be so happy to have such a comfy dress

Well, it might not really be a big thing for me to learn now because my mind is already diverted, and the only thing I feel I could learn now is how to amend my clothes when they're torn.
