Oh wow - aren't they lovely. I was also fascinated with these rare birds. I fell in love with the blue footed boobies as well. As you mentioned - their familiarity with people was surprising. I was there in 2000. I hope there were some turtles still left there when you visited.

Cool that you have been there as well. There were surely turtles. I even seen some while snorkling... really amazing!
And I've also seen Lonesome George who was still alive back then.
I spent 1 month in Ecuador and 3 months in total in South America. Also ventured over to Paseiland. Wow Lonesome George is still there - that is great. Happy some are still there. Nature is so fascinating - I also loved the blue butterflies.
Lonesome George died in 2012 😞
I was there in 2007.
It must have been an amazing trip you made.
We traveled through Ecuadornfor 5 weeks which was wonderful. A beautiful country!
