Getting Ready for Sunday

Greetings to all the wonderful people of this wonderful HIVE World. Hoping all is well.

Saturday, for me, is a day that is very loaded with a lot of work to do. Aside from all the household chores that I only do on that day, it is also a preparation for Sunday's Church service. Let's have a glimpse of one of the things that I or somebody else in our church family should never be forgotten to do every Saturday. Getting ready for Sunday.

(Note: The place of my experience is in our Church building but I will not talk about religion. Just sharing merely what I did on one of the Saturdays in my life.)

Filling Up the Empty Space

This is our church (building), it looks like an empty big space during weekdays but is a special place on Sundays or any day there is an event. We are living on a parsonage below it. Usually, it's our youth who will clean and prepare it but this time, it happened that I checked inside before the youth arrived. Seeing the space in the front I decided to arrange and prepare it by myself.

Choosing what plants to put in front was the first thing I did. We have a few ornamental plants which I selected from the ones I will use. My apology if I do not know the names of most of the plants. It just proved that I am not a "plantita", the word we used to describe a woman who likes plants so much😅.

For the center vase, I chose the one above. For the plantitas, you may help me with the name of that plant in the comment 😁.

Cleaned its pot and put it in the vase at the center of the platform. Looks good to me.

I'd always liked the one that we called "Palmera", so I picked four of them and cleaned its pot one by one. Plucking out the weeds and the weathered leaves it has.

Putting the Palmeras on its place at the front.

We have only two big white pots that are not broken that's why the other two Palmeras were on their original pots. Seemed good enough but something was a bit not pleasant to the eyes. What could it be? Let's look a little closer.

Covering Up the Unpleasant

IMG20230224152523.jpg

There it was. The side wall part of the platform is made of plane GI sheets painted with red led. Through time, some of the red led fall apart from the sheet leaving the first white coat.

Daddy handed over to me a couple of adhesive wallpaper that I will use to cover that not-so-perfect side of the platform. I then measured the part to be covered and cut the adhesive wallpaper to its size.

IMG20230224153544.jpg

Sticking the adhesive wallpaper was not easy as I thought it should be. I did my best to put it perfectly, but I failed 😔. I cannot undo it, for it will make it torn apart. So I was just hoping it would not be too obvious.

Almost done with the front side. And oh, I forgot to tell you that I had my little helpers with me 😁.

Janneah and Jewel helped me clean the surroundings.

Lastly were the sides. It was not as difficult as the front because it has a plane surface and no molding attached at the edges.

Perfectly Imperfect

At last, it was all done, not perfectly though. But the good thing was that I made a difference on that day, haha. Kidding aside, no matter how small or great you have done on a day in your life, may it not be as perfect as you want it to be, but when you do it heartily, it all matters in the end.

That is all for this blog. Thank you for the time spent with me. With love, mommyjane 😘.

You're cute little helpers tho🥰.

The preparation of church is easy to look at but when you do it, it's laborious especially when there's event in church, work becomes triple. I noticed when I some time live in my husband's parents, they're busy at all times. Until now that they on 70's, they always attend meetings and conferences for the welfare of the church.
