Whispers of Autumn: A Lesson in Life Through Falling Leaves
Hello, dear friends! I hope you’re all doing well. Today, I’m excited to share an experience from the autumn season of last year that left a lasting impression on me.
I have a habit of closely observing my surroundings wherever I go. Whether something is beneficial or potentially harmful, I like to understand its significance. This curiosity has been a part of me since my student days, and even now, in my professional life, it continues to shape my perspective. My job often takes me to different places, and I always make an effort to capture the beauty I come across, even if it’s just with my phone camera. Photography has become my way of preserving moments and sharing them with others.
During one of my work-related visits last autumn, I had the chance to stop by a school where some developmental work was in progress. The school, surrounded by lush greenery, had a magnificent chinar tree standing in its courtyard. Though not very old—perhaps between 5 to 20 years—the tree had already started shedding its leaves, marking the peak of the autumn season.
Earlier that day, strong winds had blown through the area, causing many leaves to fall. As I walked towards the school, I noticed the scattered leaves in shades of green, yellow, and crimson. Their transformation fascinated me, and I couldn’t resist picking up a few and capturing their beauty through my lens.
These leaves reminded me of the different stages of life. Just as leaves start fresh and vibrant before gradually changing color and eventually falling, human life follows a similar journey. Youth is full of energy and strength, but as time passes, we all experience change and, eventually, decline.
Inspired by this thought, I arranged the leaves in a sequence and took some photographs. Through these images, I wanted to convey a message—life is ever-changing, and nothing remains the same forever. Recognizing this reality teaches us humility. Instead of being consumed by pride or temporary success, we should embrace kindness, patience, and respect for others.
I hope you enjoyed this reflection. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to sharing more with you soon!
