Red-breasted Nuthatch

It was a brief encounter; I noticed this bird land, and it caught my eye, as it is one I have only seen a few times. I recently learned that this is a red-breasted nuthatch. They will move very quickly over trunks and branches looking for food underneath the bark. They can move in all directions in this search even upside down. They can bounce around for a few moments then as I observed completly vainish from sight.
