Red-breasted Nuthatch

This tiny little nuthatch is one bird that I know by how tiny it is combined with its pointed narrow beak. They are usually found in forests and wooded areas but can also be spotted in backyards. Their range covers most of the US and Canada, where they can find an abundance of insects almost anywhere as long as the weather is right. They will pick them off trees in large numbers, sticking their beaks under bark, and are known to help protect these trees from getting too damaged.
