"The early bird gets the worm" is an expression about how Robins conduct themselves; it is used in business and other settings to convey how important it is to be first in the scene, ready to go, and ready to close the deal. In terms of worms, robins are very adept at sealing the deal. It's been noted that when presented with other easier food choices, robins will still prefer to go looking for a worm because they know they will succeed in obtaining their first meal choice.
