Monomad: Looking Down on Sandy Beach

These are some views overlooking Sandy Beach in Calgary. It is down in the valley alongside the Elbow River. There is a park here; it seems like it is primarily a dog park with some family picnic and BBQ spots. I'm not sure where it gets the name; there is some sand along the shores of the river, but it isn't really what I think of when I think of a sandy beach. I almost find myself longing for a real beach when I hear the words, but its a nice spot with some good pathways and if you find a way to get further down the path a bit quieter as the main park area is almost always teeming with people and their dogs splashin away in the river.
