Monomad: Grey Wolf at the Calgary Zoo

There was a pair of these gray wolves doing laps in their enclosure; their determined jog didn't stop or let up other than when they would change directions. They both moved so quickly that I couldn't get both of them in the same frame. This is normal behavior for grey wolves, as they are known to move around in the wild to communicate and establish territory. It is also something that keeps them safe, as they sometimes do it to avoid predators and also elicit a defensive response from other animals.

Wow, @mmckinneyphoto13, wolves! I’m fascinated by seeing them. 😍 I imagine you used a telephoto lens and were quite far away.
