Monomad: Great Grey Owl

Known to inhabit the forest regions across Canada, Alaska, and Europe, the great grey owl is among the tallest of owls. It has a very thick plumage as well. Up close I find it looks like wool and looks like it would protect well from the elements in the chilly northern locales that this bird will call both home and hunting ground. Mothers will leave their young after they fledge, and it is the fathers that remain, feeding their young for up to three months. Males will also feed females during courtship and egg incubation.
