Life on the water
I wonder how much of their lives these ducks spend on the water; I feel like it's probably quite a bit, and when I looked into this further, everywhere I checked said it is a significant portion. Mallards are not too picky either; they will take to water almost anywhere they can find it. If you have a backyard pool, it is likely ducks will want to swim in it. I think it would not be such a bad life swimming around, splashing other ducks, and looking for food. Maybe even just having a relaxing float when no one is around.
