Great Blue Heron

I was at the Glenmor Reservoir to see if I could spot some birds, and this one I saw from a distance at first. I was at the top of a large hill and cliff that overlooks the reservoir. It appeared to be standing in the middle of the water, like a mystical lone wizard. It walked as if its legs were long enough to reach the bottom of the reservoir, although I know the spots where it was positioned were wetlands and marshes. I saw a couple spaced apart as I walked along the ridge looking for a way to get down to the shoreline. Fortunately, I eventually found a pathway that made it easy and was able to get in for a few closer shots. It stood still for a long time, only occasionally moving or changing directions.
