Calgary Comic Expo Getting Ready for the Parade

This is a collection of images from the staging area for the Parade of Wonders 2024 edition. Everyone gathers together to get ready for the 30 minutes to an hour beforehand. It was fun to see some old favorites like Wolverine or Gandalf, as well as plenty of characters I have never seen anyone try and cosplay before. Marge Simpson looked great. I wasn't able to get a good close up of her from the front, but I liked the effect of seeing her and Freddy Krueger, both characters that, even from behind, are easily recognizable. I enjoy this time as it helps me prepare and also gets me some great photo ops for close-ups.

My next set will be the parade itself, which went very well despite being a bit chilly downtown yesterday. So stay tuned!!
