Calgary Comic Expo Day 1

This is a set from the sneak preview day of the Calgary Comic Expo, which ran for 4 days this past weekend. Usually I just try to be a little more casual as I start, try and get the lay of the land, and not try and see it all at the beginning. I find this approach helps me get settled in and make sure my settings are good, as I always shoot everything on manual. Also, I find it important to make sure I am not moving to much, as I tend to take a lot of shots while I am walking, so this year it was really about taking more time and getting more quality images out of each day.

It is also an exhausting event of massive sensory overload, but I enjoy every second of the challenge and really view this as one of my favorite things to do in terms of photography. It was neat to see a bit of a different look as the BMO Center, which is the convention hall that hosts the Expo, has been undergoing a massive upgrade and is not quite open yet, but some elements are already there with more space and better access to get in and out, which is important to be able to step away for breaks whenever you feel the need.
