Black-capped Chickadee

Black-capped chickadees are curious and fun little birds. Watching them move from branch to branch, it is a very inquisitive bird. It is known for investigating people and anything else in its home territory. I have seen this in person when I have been in some wooded areas and found them flying back and forth, getting closer before moving away and repeating these actions as I walked through.

When it comes to food, they are kind of like squirrels in that they are known to hide seeds for later and keep them in many different spots. A chickadee can actually remember thousands of hiding spots. Their calls are complex, and they can communicate some fairly detailed information amongst each other about other flocks and potential threats.
