Abstract Macro Snow Melting on Carpet
Macro around the house can be experimental and almost random. I was hoping to get some good close-ups of snow melting, so I thought I would bring some inside, and I tried placing it on different surfaces but found what I was getting wasn't too interesting. I had dropped a little bit on a small floor mat that I have by my patio window. Once I got closer and saw the way the melting snow kind of hung on the carpet fibers, I thought, maybe this is what I'm looking for. It looked weird; I had some interesting cyan-colored light to work with, which gave this more of an alien look, almost. As I added more snow in different spots, it was neat to see little water drops and ice on these fibers, and the 3-dimensional element, I feel, gave some interesting depth to what I was seeing through various angles.
