A compliment of a fresh tomato meal as the Christmas approach.

Hello my dear homesteaders and agriculturist, happy new week and merry Christmas in advance. The year is drawing near to his end and the new year is just at the corner.
I thought it's necessary to have fast growing crops and vegetables against the eve of new Year and January after spending and eating the gathered food items in Christmas..

On this note, I have been engaging lately in planting of spicy crops and vegetables through the use of empty cement bags since I have no farm close by but a garden.
If you have been following my post lately, you will see that I have nurse alot of spicy plants and also cultivate vegetables of assorted types.

Today I decided to come here with a show up of how my tomatoes are doing under this same method of pepper cultivation that I have adopted in nursing. I care for it as if I'm caring for a new born child, because the weather conditions here this part of West Africa. The dry (hamathan) season is really killing young crops and plants from the stems to the leaves being dried up if not taking care properly. This is the most aggressive and tough moment in agriculture but in all, a good homesteader, and agriculturalist will always improvise when need be.

I see myself engaging more on gardening plants and nursing them with a different and developed method, you believe with me that those in the western part of Nigeria are known for their fresh, juicy, tasty and green vegetables which compliment their various delicacies.

Planting fresh plants or seedlings is not advisable because of the heavy dryness and lack of rainfall but some people take the risk of doing that and later panic about dying seeds on the ground germinating.
I chose to water my growing tomatoes seedlings twice and apply the animal waste every five days intervals and I can see the great improvements in my in them starting from the green color of the leaves to the fast and healthy growth.

I don’t need chemical fertilizer to keep my plants growing as the chemicals may be toxic to our health that’s why I always go with animals' waste and water. By doing this the risk of getting sick after consuming my produce is reduced and the original content and nutrients are supplied in rich quantities such as minerals, vitamins, protein and even carbohydrates in their perspective ratio.

When doctors advise us to eat fresh foods, they don’t mean raw food but food with healthy supplements complete and free from diseases.
And when you adhere to these instructions the chance of being sick is very far.

I wish all of you good luck on your weekend anticipation.
Thanks for visiting my post. Please do visit again!
Stay well and keep engaging in homesteading and garden work.

Actually growing crops during the dry seasons is very tasky and we have to do lots of work and wetting to keep veggies alive.
Well done.
