Assalamu Alaikum. I hope you are all well and healthy. Today I want to share with you something that almost all of us experience at some point in our lives. The topic is— “Anger and pride decrease with the change of time, but the scars of the hurt given by someone remain.”

In the course of life, we come to know many people. Some give us joy, some inspire us, and some say or behave in such a way that even after a long time, a kind of pain mark remains in our hearts. The interesting thing is that anger gradually decreases with time. Even if you see the person you were once very angry with, you may no longer feel the same feelings as before. Pride also starts to fade away at some point. But some injuries are embedded in the heart in such a way that they cannot be easily forgotten.

I think that the injuries inflicted by people’s words sometimes hurt more than physical injuries. Because the wounds of the body eventually dry up, but the wounds of the mind make their existence known for a long time. Sometimes in a quiet moment, sometimes when an old memory comes to mind, those hurts come to the fore again.

However, I also believe that it is not right to carry those hurts for the rest of your life. Because if you keep the pain caused by others inside yourself, you will hurt yourself the most. That is why learning to forgive is very important. Forgiveness does not mean that we have forgotten everything, rather it means that we have learned to put down the burden of the past for our own peace.

Life is very short. Every pain, every experience here teaches us something new. Those who hurt us may have also unknowingly helped us become stronger. So today I try to accept the memories of pain as a lesson, not as a burden.

Finally, I would like to say that time changes many things. Anger decreases, pride disappears, but some scars remain as the story of our lives. If we can accept those scars as a sign of experience instead of considering them as weaknesses, maybe we will be able to move forward more beautifully.
