A Visit Of Kot Diji Fort, A Majestic Symbol Of Talpur Empire
Hello Hiveans!
Last weekend, I had visited a tremendous historical place called Kot Fiji Fort located in district Khairpur, Sindh province of Pakistan. I visited that fort with my friends and we felt very blessed. We got lots of interesting knowledge about this fort and I'll share that knowledge with you guys also share some views of the Fort.
So lets get started.....
This tremendous fort constructed with the order of Mir Sohrab Khan Talpur. The construction started in 1785 and completed in 1795. It is located at the height of 110 feet from ground and it spreads in 1.8 Km.
The outer wall height of this fort is almost 30 feet. The Fort is the greatest sign of pride for Talpur Emperors. The paths of this fort is constructed intentionally zig zag and harder. The reason behind this is, the enemy can't reach to the the Fort quickly. Allegedly, this fort never be conquered in history.
In ancient times, the doors of the forts are being broken with the help of elephant. Due to this reason, the doors of this fort is constructed with bigger nails. The nails are imbued in the door for the safety of the door from enemy.
The entrance door has 234 nails, the second one has 204 nails and the third door has 176 nails that are pierced in the door. The doors are constructed with strongest woods that can never be break.
The view at the top of the Fort is quite satisfying. The surrounding mansions gives a great historical look that make very one to feel better. You can see the rifts in the walls of this fort. This rifts was used for enemy to boil them with hot oil. The defence system of this fort is marvellous and it was never be conquered in the history.
There was also an emergency gate in this fort that if enemy breached in the Fort the king escape from this gate. We seen a place where Laltain, a lamp with a metal frame, was stored. Imagine, what was the view or night at this fort. We have seen a prison where prisoner were locked.
A tour guide told us, there was at a time 1000 soldier at fort. There are barracks constructed in the Fort for the livings of soldiers. The barrack was to short in height. When I entered in a barrack my head is about to touch the roof.
I have seen the main hall of Fort where emperor sits and took divisions of general public. The interior was beautifully designed and still it is at condition when it was constructed.
This fort is destructing with the passage of time because the custody of this fort is not in the hands of our government. It is under command of Prince Mir Mehdi Raza and team, they are not handing over it.
If it was with government, it would be much in better shape. Allegedly, this fort is one of them last forts that were constructed in Sindh. I hope you guys like my discovery. You must visited that great historical fort to go deep into the history.
