The stories beneath my feet (ENG/ESP)

I love hiking. Walking in the mountains, visiting rivers and forests, going out to walk different routes in natural places.

Every time you do an activity like that, you have the chance to discover something new. It can be a spectacular view, vast and wild places, or different vegetation and fauna. But also, you may discover parts of yourself you didn't know you had, abilities you didn't know you had, and even people you didn't know would become great friends.

When I go out for an adventure like this, I have a habit of taking a picture of my feet stepping on the ground where I am. It may be frivolous or strange to some, but then it gives me a certain nostalgia and joy to see all the places I've walked on.

Looking at all the collection of images of this kind that I have, I thought about how many stories lie beneath my feet. You may not believe me, but even if some images look very similar, I always manage to recognize where exactly they were taken. That's the beauty of it.

I brought for this post some of my favorite images, and when I look at them, I inevitably smile as I remember each story.

For example, some pics tell the adventures I had with my best friend during the worst time of my life. Another tells the story of a very sad farewell. One reminds me of the silence of a lonely and romantic pine forest. With another I hear the sound of friends' laughter as we tell stories. With one I smile at the sight of the paws of my mountaineering dog, who is not really mine, imagining how many stories he has under his paws too.

And some images I keep for myself alone in my heart.

How many stories we all have under our feet..... Some worthy of being shared and others too intimate to tell.

Me encanta hacer senderismo. Caminar en la montaña, visitar ríos y bosques, salir a recorrer diferentes rutas en lugares naturales.

Cada vez que haces una actividad como esa, tienes la posibilidad de descubrir algo nuevo; puede ser una vista espectacular, lugares vastos y salvajes, o vegetación y fauna diferente. Pero también, puedes descubrir partes de ti mismo que no conocías, capacidades que no sabías que tenías e incluso personas que no sabías que se convertirían en grandes compañeros y amigos.

Cuando salgo por una aventura como esta, tengo la costumbre de tomar una foto de mis pies pisando el terreno donde estoy. Puede ser algo frívolo o extraño para algunos, pero luego me da cierta nostalgia y alegría ver todos los suelos que he pisado en diferentes lugares.

Viendo toda la colección de imágenes de este estilo que tengo, pensé en cuántas historias se encuentran bajo mis pies. Puede que no me crean, pero aunque algunas imágenes parezcan muy similares, siempre logro reconocer en qué lugar fueron tomadas exactamente. Eso es lo bonito.

Traje para este post algunas de mis imágenes favoritas, y cuando las veo, me es inevitable sonreír al recordar cada historia.

Por ejemplo, algunas relatan las aventuras que tuve con mi mejor amiga en la peor época de mi vida. Otra cuenta la historia de una despedida muy triste. Alguna me recuerda al silencio de un bosque de pinos solitario muy romántico. Con otra escucho el sonido de las risas de amigos mientras echábamos cuentos. Con una sonrío al ver las patitas de mi perro montañista, que en realidad no es mío, al imaginar cuantas historias tiene él bajo sus patitas también.

Y algunas imágenes me las guardo para mí solo en mi corazón.

Cuántas historias tenemos todos bajo nuestros pies... Algunas dignas de ser compartidas y otras muy íntimas como para contar.
