Yes, bees have different venom, and it appears that I am not allergic to wasps and hornets, although I was severely attacked by numerous hornets the week prior while driving the narrowboat.

I have sensitive skin and a lack of vitamins B and D, which leaves me vulnerable and attracts insects. Fortunately, I have not been attacked by a bee in a long time, but it would be interesting to observe if I've outgrown my allergy and no longer respond to bee stings. Even if I could access emergency care on the canals if necessary, I'd rather not test whether I'm still allergic to bees here.:)

So good of you to be prepared to give that guy on the train mouth-to-mouth resuscitation!
