Hello everyone! Today I'm going to show you how to make pickled apples. Lately, I've been craving pickled fruit, and I remembered that I can make pickled apples myself, and they're actually delicious! I've made them about twice before, but back then we had a lot of apples at home during apple season. We had one apple tree, so we made pickled apples regularly. But this time, there aren't any apples, so I bought four large green apples from the supermarket. Let's get to the recipe and how to make them.

Ingredients

  • Four green apples
  • 600 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 250 grams brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar

Instructions

  • Wash the apples thoroughly with baking soda for about 15 minutes to remove any impurities.

  • Then, wash and slice the apples and soak them in the brine for about 10 minutes to prevent browning. The apples will remain bright white after being soaked in the brine.

  • Meanwhile, prepare the pickling brine by adding water and boiling it. While the water is boiling, add the salt, sugar, and vinegar... - Mix the vinegar with the other ingredients.

  • Then, simmer everything until the sugar dissolves and everything is well combined. Turn off the heat and let the brine cool.

  • Meanwhile, arrange the apples that have been soaked in brine in layers in the prepared glass jar. Then, pour the cooled brine into the jar.

  • Leave at room temperature for about five to seven days without opening. If the apples float to the surface, you can place a container on top to press them down into the brine.

  • After five or seven days, open and taste. That's it! You'll have delicious pickled apples to enjoy.
