Enter the natural forest : To get the chestnut 🍂🍁🌰

Chestnut 🌰.jpeg

Hello everyone, it's autumn and chestnut season. Every year, from late September to October in Italy, chestnuts fall to the ground, just in time for chestnut season. This isn't my first time, but it's the first time this year that I've gone chestnut picking. Today, I'll take you all into the forest to pick them.

At 2:00 PM, we planned to take a break after lunch and then head out to find chestnuts. We drove about 40 minutes from home to a forested mountain. We kept driving, having never been here before. This was our first time here, and we didn't know if there were any. As we drove, the atmosphere was wonderful. It wasn't too cold or too hot, but it was a little chilly. The autumn foliage along the roadside created a beautiful, natural atmosphere.

Along the way, we kept checking for fallen chestnuts along the roadside. In forests like these, there are chestnut trees along the roadside, making them easy to spot. When we came across a chestnut tree, we had to stop and take a look. At first, it turned out they weren't chestnut shells that had been discarded on the side of the road. There probably weren't any chestnut trees around, so we had to keep driving.

After a while, we came across a chestnut tree by the roadside, with chestnuts scattered across the ground. We immediately parked on the side of the road and began collecting chestnuts, which were covered in numerous shells. We weren't the first to see chestnuts; we mostly saw only shells. We tried to shake the tree to get the chestnuts to fall to the ground, then packed them in our bags.

We didn't get many, so we continued on our way and came across another chestnut tree by the roadside. We parked on the side, but this time, we continued collecting from the fallen chestnuts. There were so many. We walked a short distance into the forest, not far from the car, that we found a lot. At first, we collected the ones that had fallen out of the shells, but it wasn't fast enough, so we collected the ones with the shells as well.

After we were satisfied with the amount of capturing, we prepared to head home. We had collected quite a lot. It took us only an hour to collect them, but even after the journey home, we had collected a lot. I'm not sure if it included the shells. We arrived late, and we were leaving the next day.

Then, my father took the chestnuts we had collected, split them open, washed them, and then baked them in a hot oven. The roasted chestnuts were starting to show through the slits. They looked incredibly appetizing.

After dinner, we enjoyed some of the roasted chestnuts. Some were enormous, and they looked incredibly delicious. Chestnuts are nutritious, packed with vitamins and fiber, offering countless health benefits. Most importantly, they're all natural, chemical-free, and incredibly delicious.

And here are the chestnuts we found during chestnut season. If you'd like to try them without having to go into the forest, they're available at markets and supermarkets. I hope you enjoy my post and photos. Thank you for following along. Have a great day!
