Estas fotos la tomé durante un bautizo que se llevó a cabo en una iglesia de Las Mercedes, en Caracas, Venezuela. La sesión se realizó hace varios años y la pequeña niña tenía tan sólo 2 años de edad.

Capturar estas imágenes siempre es lo más difícil de hacer, porque con tan corta edad, los niños no saben posar, se distraen fácilmente y hacen movimientos muy bruscos sin previo aviso.

Además, normalmente también le tienen un poco de miedo a los desconocidos y cuando ven la cámara, por lo general, es como si supieran que uno está allí para retratarlos, pero ellos sólo quieren estar ahí, relajados, sin que nadie los molestes, jeje.

siempre hay que estar atento. Yo aproveché la oportunidad en que la niña comenzó a caminar por sí sola justo por el pasillo de la iglesia y la seguí para tomarle estas fotos.

Hay que hacer las tomas durante los pocos segundos en que la niña está espontáneamente en lugares donde pueden resultar fotos geniales. No puedes usar flash, al menos no con la mayoría, porque ese brillo les advierte que algo está sucediendo a su alrededor y puede molestarles.

Es cierto que también que hay niños que parecen super modelos a esa edad, y que puedes hacer todo lo contrario, pero en mi experiencia, representan a la mínima parte de la población.

Yo usé un lente 35mm de apertura 1.8 así que eso significa también que la precisión tiene que ser más exacta para que no salgan desenfocadas las imágenes. Pero cuando haces el trabajo bien, todo resulta en una muy buena foto.

El bokeh que genera este objetivo suele gustar mucho a las personas y más en este tipo de locación, especialmente cuando aprovechas la simetría religiosa que existe en estos lugares.

These photos were taken during a baptism that took place in a church in Las Mercedes, Caracas, Venezuela. The session took place several years ago and the little girl was only 2 years old.

Capturing these images is always the hardest thing to do, because at such a young age, children don't know how to pose, are easily distracted and make very sudden movements without warning.

They are also usually a little afraid of strangers and when they see the camera, it is usually as if they know you are there to take their picture, but they just want to be there, relaxed, without anyone bothering them, hehe.

You always have to be attentive. I took the opportunity when the little girl started walking on her own right down the aisle of the church and followed her to take these pictures.

You have to take the shots during the few seconds when the girl is spontaneously in places where great photos can result. You can't use flash, at least not with most of them, because that brightness warns them that something is happening around them and can disturb them.

It's also true that there are kids who look like super models at that age, and you can do just the opposite, but in my experience, they represent the smallest part of the population.

I used a 1.8 aperture 35mm lens so that also means that the precision has to be more accurate so that the images don't come out of focus. But when you do the job right, it all results in a very good photo.

The bokeh that this lens generates is usually very pleasing to people and more so in this type of location, especially when you take advantage of the religious symmetry that exists in these places.
