#AIRCRAFTS: CESSNA CITATION II

avatar

The Cessna Citation II, also known as Model 550, is a light jet aircraft designed for executive, corporate flights, and special missions. It was developed by the American company Cessna Aircraft Company as an evolution of the Citation I, aiming to improve speed, capacity, and performance without losing the operational ease that characterized it.

Its first flight was on January 31, 1977.

This model is distinguished by its elongated fuselage, which allows it to carry up to 8 passengers plus 2 pilots, although there is also a version for single-pilot operation (Citation II/SP). Among its technical features are its two Pratt & Whitney Canada JT15D-4 turbofan engines, each producing 2,500 lbf of thrust, reaching a cruise speed of 385 knots or 713 km/h.

Additional information:

Maximum range: ~1,159 nautical miles (2,146 km)
Service ceiling: 43,000 feet
Takeoff distance: ~1,050 meters
Landing distance: ~745 meters

Its design includes longer wings, greater fuel capacity, and a redesigned cabin to offer more space and comfort. Additionally, its performance on short runways and its maneuverability make it ideal for airports with operational restrictions. And it was very popular because it was ideal for pilots transitioning from smaller aircraft.

Location: International Airport G/A José Antonio Anzoátegui, in Barcelona, Anzoátegui, Venezuela.
