The heart of the city beats here [EN/PT]

Recently, one of the most symbolic spaces in my city was reopened: the Municipal Market. A place dedicated to local traders, where you can find vegetables, fruit, handicrafts and various other artisan products. As well as being one of the most important cultural spaces in the region, the market is also a reference point when it comes to quality products and fair prices.

These photos were taken outside the Municipal Market. There are some regular events here, but the most emblematic of all is the free market, held weekly on Fridays.

The other day, as I passed by, I saw that a girl was painting the walls of the place. It caught my eye, especially as it was very hot that day, and even in the strong sun, she seemed determined to get the job done. A few days later, but specifically yesterday, on Saturday morning, as I was passing by on my way to pick up my son, I noticed that the painting had been completed. I was impressed, it was simply beautiful!

Recentemente, foi reinaugurado um dos espaços mais simbólicos aqui da minha cidade: o Mercado Municipal. Um local dedicado aos comerciantes locais, onde é possível encontrar legumes, frutas, artesanatos e diversos outros produtos feitos de forma artesanal. Além de ser um dos espaços culturais mais importantes da região, o mercado é também um ponto de referência quando se fala em produtos de qualidade e preços justos.

Essas fotos foram tiradas da parte externa do Mercado Municipal. Por aqui, acontecem alguns eventos periódicos, mas o mais emblemático de todos é a feira livre, realizada semanalmente às sextas-feiras.

Outro dia, ao passar por aqui, vi que uma garota estava pintando as paredes do local. Aquilo me chamou atenção, principalmente porque fazia muito calor naquele dia, e mesmo sob o sol forte, ela parecia estar determinada a concluir o trabalho. Alguns dias depois, mas especificamente ontem, no sábado de manhã, enquanto passava por ali a caminho de buscar meu filho, percebi que a pintura havia sido finalizada. Fiquei impressionado, ficou simplesmente lindo!

Each of these drawings tells a little of this history, of the daily life of the market traders and the importance that this routine has for the city's identity. They portray not only the work, but also the dedication, tradition and community spirit that are part of the lives of those who live in or visit the city.

To come to my city and not visit at least one of the many fairs spread across different locations and days of the week is, quite frankly, not to have a complete experience. Believe me: it's at the markets that the city really pulses, where you can smell the smells, taste the flavors and feel the human warmth that represent us so well.

Seeing the Municipal Market come alive again, with art on the walls and the movement of the market traders, fills me with hope. It's a reminder of how small gestures, like a painting on a wall or a conversation at a fruit stall, can transform someone's day. More than a place of commerce, the market is a meeting place, a symbol of our culture and history.

Yesterday there wasn't the famous outdoor market, which takes place the day before, but seeing everything so well done fills me with pride!

Cada um desses desenhos conta um pouco dessa história, do cotidiano dos feirantes e da importância que essa rotina tem para a identidade da cidade. Eles retratam não só o trabalho, mas também a dedicação, a tradição e o espírito comunitário que fazem parte da vida de quem vive ou visita a cidade.

Vir até a minha cidade e não conhecer pelo menos uma das várias feiras espalhadas por diferentes locais e dias da semana é, sinceramente, não ter uma experiência completa. Acredite em mim: é nas feiras que a cidade pulsa de verdade, onde você sente o cheiro, o sabor e o calor humano que nos representam tão bem.

Ver o Mercado Municipal ganhar vida de novo, com arte nas paredes e a movimentação dos feirantes, me enche de esperança. É um lembrete de como os pequenos gestos, como uma pintura em um muro ou uma conversa em uma barraca de frutas, podem transformar o dia de alguém. Mais do que um lugar de comércio, o mercado é um ponto de encontro, um símbolo da nossa cultura e da nossa história.

Ontem não estava tendo a famosa feira por ali no espaço externo, isso aconteceu no dia anterior, mas ver tudo tão caprichado me enche de orgulho!
