Greetings everyone! As a passionate reader, I have had the privilege of attending numerous book fairs in Cambodia, and one of my favorite experiences was exploring the Floating Library called Doulos Hope in Phnom Penh.

Last week, I heard the exciting news that this international ship-based book fair was coming to the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port, and I couldn't wait to check it out. As soon as my school exams were over, I headed straight to the port, eager to explore this unique literary adventure.

When I arrived, I was immediately struck by the sheer size and grandeur of the ship. It was docked right on the riverbank, and the sight of its towering presence against the backdrop of the River was truly breathtaking. I quickly parked my bike and followed the directions provided by the event staff, my heart racing with anticipation.

As I stepped onto the ship, I was greeted by a vast array of bookshelves, each one neatly organized and filled with a diverse selection of literature. The shelves were divided into different genres, ranging from horror and romance to fiction and non-fiction, making it easy for me to navigate and find the books that interested me.

I began my exploration, carefully perusing the shelves and stopping to admire the covers of the books that caught my eye. My friends and I engaged in lively discussions, sharing our thoughts and recommendations as we searched for the perfect reads.

One of the things that struck me the most was the peaceful and serene atmosphere on the ship. Despite the excitement of the event, there was a sense of calm and tranquility that allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the world of books. The gentle rocking of the ship and the beautiful river view provided the perfect backdrop for our literary adventure.

You can calculate the price according to the poster on the wall, yea it was pretty different as they didn’t accept the payment form any national banks or card.

As I wandered through the different sections, I was amazed by the sheer variety of books on offer. From classic literature to the latest bestsellers, the Floating Library had something to suit every taste and interest. I found myself drawn to the international section, marveling at the diverse perspectives and cultural experiences that were represented in the books.

The first day of the book fair was relatively quiet, with mostly students and local residents in attendance.
