Sky Garden • The Best View of London from the Sky
Sky Garden • The Best View of London from the Sky
Where could you get the see the best 360° view of London?
It is something that we wanted to find out during our free time to discover more of London. We did some research and found out about the "Sky Garden". Not only it has the best view of London but it also has a garden. We were told that booking a ticket to visit is sometimes hard so it is best to book a week in advance.
We booked our free ticket online at https://skygarden.london/ and fortunately, we got a slot for the 10 AM schedule.
We reached the skyscraper that has 38 floors and the garden is located on the 35th floor.
Here you would need to fall in line to get inside. They would check your identification card and online ticket before they would let you in.
Inside there would be a security check with an x-ray machine just like in the airport before you could access the elevator. Just like in airports liquids and other restricted items are prohibited. We just got rid of our bottled water to avoid any issues.
Once you get to the 35th floor there is a café where you could have breakfast or just have a cup of coffee and enjoy the view of London from above.
From up here you would have a 360° view of the cityscape and the area has glass windows from floor to ceiling. It was raining that day so we were unable to go outside to get better shots of the view around us.
Facing the south view you would see River Thames and the wharf. Time will just fly by as you watch the ferries and ships pass by the river.
On the east part of the skyscraper, you would have a great view of the Tower of London and the iconic Tower bridge. It is a good thing that I brought along with me a zoom lens to fully enjoy the view. Just a reminder though there are a lot of people waiting to take a photo in this spot. I got a bit carried away not noticing there were already people behind me.
Here are some of the photos I took from the east side of the building. It was raining a bit gloomy that day but that is part of the charm of London.
Looking at the west side you will find St. Paul's Cathedral. As you would notice there are markers on the glass window to tell you what you need to look for. I am very excited and hope to visit St. Paul's Cathedral one of these days.
From up here you will also see the BT tower which is used as a communication Hub here in the UK also as a pollution observatory. Would be difficult to have a good view if you are just using a mobile phone to take a photo.
Back inside there is a chic restaurant located on the upper floor. We headed up to check and see what it looks like from the inside.
Just from looking outside, you could feel that the place is expensive and a dress code is required. We were wondering how exquisite the food must be in this restaurant.
We checked the price on the menu outside and as expected it was expensive. Maybe for special occasions for us, maybe we could experience it one day.
We were outside looking in for now and loved the interior of the restaurant.
Outside there are tables surrounded by large potted plants and lemon trees. There were no diners at this time so it was ok to roam around for a little bit.
As for the garden, the area has been strategically landscaped to feature plants that flourish year-round. It has a lot of exotic and tropical plants from around the world. The floor functions like a greenhouse to make the plants and trees thrive. I'm just not sure what are the names of the plants here.
There are a lot of amazing spots here where you could take photos or just spend quiet time with yourself. This is one of the popular spots where a lot of people take photos.
Going to the north here you would have a breathtaking view of the other skyscrapers around London. This includes the bullet-shaped 30 St Mary Axe also known as The Gherkin.
Just facing this view is the City Garden Bar where you could enjoy nights out and drink. A great way to spend time with friends especially on weekends after a long week from work.
We had a lovely experience visiting the Sky Garden which is a must-visit place whenever you are in London. The best part is the ticket is free and you just need to book online. You have one hour to spend in this amazing place but if there are not a lot of people you could stay longer.
Before I wrap up this episode let me share a few more photos from the west side of the building facing London Bridge.
Thank you for joining us again today in roaming around London. Please visit us again as we share more about our new surroundings thru the eyes of a foreigner in a foreign land.
Hope to see you again soon.
Cheers.

The views here are truly breathtaking! What a beautiful place to enjoy a meal, or simply have a stroll around. The upper restaurant is gorgeous, especially with all of the tropical plant life. Definitely some beautiful views of the city from that location! 😃
And OMG. yes, that restaurant up there is pricey! 😱
It is pricey. We wouldn't be able to afford dining there 😆. Perhaps when Hive moons 😆
This one is high on my list for a visit after going recently to the Garden at 120 just off Fenchurch Street. I did a post on it, just before Christmas.
Nice I got to check your post. If you are planning to visit do the 10 am schedule. The line tends to get longer.
That’s good advice. We’ll go up at an odd time to dodge the queue.
