Wednesday Walk - Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Kolkata

I stopped at this large iron gate, when I saw the 60-foot-tall sculpture inside a beautiful garden of Birla Academy of Art & Culture. I must have walked away by it many times, but never noticed the sculpture. This time I saw that a man and a couple went to inside. I asked one of its employees there if I could go inside to see the sculpture closely. He said yes. I went inside and took many photos. There was no other visitors when I was taking photos in the garden.

60-foot-tall sculpture is of Lord Krishna/Vishnu and named as Mangal Madhav, according to the information given here. The sculptor used granite stone to make Mangal Madhav Sculpture. You can know more about the sculpture from the given link.

I was very close to Mangal Madhav statue. Therefore I took few photos of the statue from various angles.

The garden was beautiful and well-maintained but there was not a single visitor except me.

I saw that they made small sculptures too.

I think these five paintings have the complete information of making of soil sculpture.

There was a round furnace in the garden and many sculptures were installed on it. Apart of these, there were many other sculptures kept on the multiple shelves beside the furnace.

I was standing near Mangal Madhav and looking towards the main gate.

The small sculptures were kept on the shelves.

I saw a temple in the garden which had idols of Radha and Krishna.

The view of small sculptures from different angle.

As you enter the main gate of the garden, you can see this empty place on the left side. It looks beautiful with green plants, grasses, and flowers. However, you will see very low visitors there.

I also saw some beautiful sitting chairs in the garden. Visitors can sit and relax for few minutes there.

I liked this wonderful view and structures there with green stuffs.

These types of plants can be seen on the side of the boundary wall in the garden.

What a beautiful place! A true work of art.
Every corner is worth admiring, not only the natural surroundings but also the maneuvering of each silhouette.
It's a pleasure to read your work.
Best regards.
