Yo, I'm still on that double exposure grind and it feels like it's heading in the right direction, even though none of these pics are gonna make it to the hall of fame in my portfolio. The deal is to break down reality, analyze it, tap into those vibes that let these images exist in this time-space.

I'm running the same experiment with tunes, and right now, music's giving me more kicks than photography, but I ain't giving up. I gotta dissect reality, figure out if all the stuff they've been feeding me is legit. I think it's all part of a big scheme to keep us distracted from the core deal - being human.

What does it even mean to be human? We all wanna be god-like, no emotions, no fears, wanting the instinct of a god to control and dominate. Lately, it feels like humanity's stumbling towards a string of unlucky events that'll jolt 'em awake. For some strange reason, I feel like I'm living in a post-apocalyptic era, in a messed up society and an unreal universe. And maybe that's where we gotta end up.

But before the whole world gets that money ain't worth squat, there ain't much to be done. My biggest desire is to snap pics of ghosts, catch those shadows that once belonged to a different universe but still pack enough energy to project their desires onto this reality. I wanna capture those "energies".

Meanwhile, the universe is serving me up some mind-blowing images. This shot of the moon is a double exposure, taken with a Canon EOS 7D. Started with a snap of the wild plants in the garden, then focused on the moon, dialing down the exposure. That gave me a veiled shot, which I then worked on with Rawtherapee (seriously recommend this software, it's open-source and gives you mad control over your pic, like working in a darkroom without the acids).

Used the RGB controller to mess with the primary colors, choosing a touch of purple that vibed with the nocturnal feel. The moon stayed incredibly sharp, you can see it clear as day. It's like a kid glued it onto the pic just the way they wanted. I'm loving this vibe the pic's giving off. Of course, it wasn't exactly what I set out to create. I've always been fascinated by how Gregory Colbert plays with colors. I even had the pleasure of meeting him.

So, I wanted to recreate a golden aura on the pic. Started experimenting with colors right from the camera.

In the pics below, you'll see some examples of how I tweaked the colors using the Canon settings. Of course, there's also the darkroom development, but you need a base pic with all the deets on what you wanna create. The result was this moon pic that looks totally unreal. Doesn't even seem like it was taken with a camera, more like a kid glued it onto the canvas just how they liked it. I'm seriously digging this effect.

Proseguo con i miei esperimenti sulle doppie esposizioni e sembra che stia ottenendo risultati incoraggianti, anche se ritengo che nessuna di queste fotografie possa vantare un posto d'oro nel mio portfolio. L'idea è quella di destrutturare la realtà, analizzarla e entrare in contatto con quelle vibrazioni che consentono alle immagini di esistere in questo spazio-tempo. Sto portando avanti lo stesso esperimento anche con la musica e al momento, è in questo campo che sto ottenendo maggiori soddisfazioni rispetto alla fotografia. Tuttavia, non intendo arrendermi. Ho bisogno di analizzare la realtà per comprendere se tutto ciò che mi è stato raccontato fino ad ora sia veritiero. Penso che sia tutto parte di un ingranaggio gigantesco atto a distoglierci dall'essenza fondamentale: essere umani.

Cosa significa essere umani? Tutti vogliamo essere come dei, privi di emozioni, liberi da paure, desiderosi di possedere l'istinto di un Dio per controllare e sottomettere. Ultimamente, mi sembra che l'umanità stia procedendo verso una serie di eventi sfortunati che la costringeranno a risvegliarsi. Per qualche motivo strano, mi sento come se vivessi in un'epoca post-apocalittica, in una società distopica e in un universo irreale. E forse è proprio lì che dobbiamo arrivare.

Ma prima che il mondo intero comprenda che i soldi non valgono nulla, c'è ben poco da fare. Il mio più grande desiderio è fotografare gli spiriti, catturare quelle ombre che un tempo appartenevano a un universo diverso ma che conservano ancora energia sufficiente per riflettere i loro desideri su questa realtà. Vorrei catturare quelle "energie". Nel frattempo, l'universo mi regala immagini incredibili. Questa foto della luna è una doppia esposizione ottenuta con una Canon EOS 7D. Ho iniziato scattando un'immagine delle piante selvatiche che crescono nel giardino, poi ho messo a fuoco la luna riducendo l'esposizione. Questo ha prodotto una foto velata, che ho successivamente elaborato con #Rawtherapee (consiglio vivamente questo software, è open source quindi gratuito e permette un controllo estremamente dettagliato sulla foto, come lavorare in camera oscura senza acidi).

Utilizzando il filtro RGB controller, ho alterato le colorazioni primarie scegliendo un velo di violaceo che si addiceva a esprimere l'atmosfera notturna. La luna è rimasta incredibilmente nitida, si può vedere bene. Sembra quasi che un bambino l'abbia incollata sulla foto a suo piacimento. Questa impressione creata dalla foto mi piace molto. Ovviamente, non era esattamente ciò che desideravo produrre. Sono sempre stato affascinato dal modo in cui Gregory Colbert utilizza i colori.Ho persino avuto il piacere di conoscerlo.

Volevo quindi ricreare un'aura dorata sulla foto. Ho iniziato a sperimentare con i colori direttamente dalla macchina fotografica. Nelle foto che seguono ci sono alcuni esempi di come ho alterato i colori grazie ai settaggi della Canon. Naturalmente, c'è anche lo sviluppo in camera oscura, ma serve una foto base che contenga già le informazioni dettagliate su ciò che voglio produrre.

Il risultato è stata questa foto della luna che sembra totalmente surreale. Non sembra scattata con una macchina fotografica, sembra proprio che un bambino l'abbia incollata sulla tela a suo piacimento. Questo effetto mi piace moltissimo. Nel frattempo, aggiungo le canzoni che stavo ascoltando durante la creazione di queste fotografie quasi irreali. Buon ascolto e buona visione.
