I've seen many interesting buildings, but nothing like this one...

You must not have heard of my homeland Bulgaria. The case of this cultural monument will reveal to you the thinking of our politicians. In 1981, this imposing building was built on Mount Buzludzha, which served as the home of the Communist Party.
Imagine the effort and engineering marvels it took to build it right on that high, hard-to-reach spot. When the political system in Bulgaria became Democracy, the monument was left to its own devices. For the new politicians, it is more convenient to even destroy it than to preserve the historical building, which will tell the history of our country to the next generations.

However, dozens of people visit Buzludzha every day, photographing it. Fortunately, architect Dora Ivanova, who is a Bulgarian architecture student in Germany, saw one of the photos and fell in love with the monument. She interrupted her studies to return to Bulgaria and did everything possible to keep Buzludzha from collapsing. He manages to find sponsors and donors. The first stage is the storage of the mosaics in the building / I have a separate story about them /. Then the securing and storage stage begins.

Here is a true story of a 20-year-old girl worthy of a Hollywood movie.

Two years later, the building is awaiting its new life and will welcome tourists this year. Applause for Dora Ivanova and her dream come true!

The footage is from two days ago. When we went there was a great fog and gale force winds. Every half hour or so there would be a window of a few seconds in which the fog would recede and I could take pictures. The drone performed extremely well as you can see in the video that it hardly moves in the strong wind.

THANKS FOR SHARING THIS STORY!

I took the shots with a Canon EOS RP / 85 lens and a DJI mini 2 drone

FREEDOM IS ACTION AND A WAY OF THINKING…

It is so amazing to look that the fog is about to embrace the lower ground. Your photography is so beautiful. You captured it well.
