PHOTO - VACATION TO THE OLD MONASTERY AND ABANDONED MINE / PHOTO STORY
##### Today I will introduce you to Kremikovtsi district, Bulgaria. Former industrial area.
Bulgaria's communist past still preserves places like this, maintaining the memory of production, healthy work and security in small settlements. This monastery was totally destroyed during Turkish slavery. Fortunately, the communists were able to restore it, but today it is mainly visited as a tourist attraction rather than a religious site. What can I tell you... Such are the times we live in. Not that I'm a very religious person, but if I buy toilet paper I don't play cards with it...
Thousands of citizens and villagers worked in this place. They produced iron and many other things in huge factories. Suddenly it becomes a democracy and the national assembly decides to stop work and people just look for work as drivers or emigrants abroad. Interestingly, the old abandoned factories are still there. No one is tearing them down or turning them into kindergartens or anything.
This huge hole is a mine, into which all the dirt from the factories has been dumped. Yes, it's still sitting with a little radiation, but it has life in it despite everyone. Yes, it is also a tourist attraction. I took the general picture from a height of 500 meters. Imagine how huge a hole that is.
The good thing is that a lot of cows are raised in the area. I managed to photograph one of them. We had a lot of fun with the drone.
THANKS FOR SHARING THIS STORY!
I took the shots with a Canon EOS RP / 85 mm lens and a DJI mini 2 drone.
