I PHOTOGRAPHED A WATERFALL ON THE COLDEST DAY OF THE WINTER / PHOTO STORY

As travel photographers, we often have to shoot in extreme weather conditions
Last winter I decided to visit this waterfall, which is located 100 km from the city where I live. I was traveling with a good friend of mine who had a business near the falls. When we arrived the thermometer showed about 0 degrees. Before I got out of the car, he asked me if I was crazy to shoot in such cold weather. My answer was - Apparently, yes!
I had an hour to spare. It was an overcast day which was perfect for slow speed photos. I made my way around the assembled hikers, stepping down rocks into the waterfall bed. They looked at me strangely because I didn't wear gloves and often used my hands to help myself get down. I settled on a large flat rock and set up the tripod. At this point I lost all feeling in my hands.
FREAKING COLD!
A word of advice: Exhaling warm air will not solve this problem. I managed the first two photos in a few minutes. Here, most photographers would leave this cold place to have a cup of tea at a nearby lodge. I understand, but I'm an donkey. I started looking around the area for interesting details. I've learned over time that these details are as important to shooting as the main subject you went for.
Why?
Google the name of a famous landmark. 90% of the photos will be just her, shot from different points of view. Details are important because they show people what else they can see. It is clear that the object for which they traveled many kilometers is there.
After such a cold session, I like to take a 30-minute bath with boiling water. I can just feel my skin melting.
THANKS FOR SHARING THIS STORY!
I took the shots with Nikon 5600 / 18 - 140 mm lens
