¡Hola mis queridos amigos!
Cuando hablamos de SIGO, también hablamos de la historia y la tradición de nuestra isla, ¡algo de lo que estamos muy orgullosos! Incluso antes de vivir aquí, era un lugar de visita obligada para comprar licores, chocolates, y el famoso queso de bola para compartir con la familia. Y es que esta cadena de supermercados ha formado parte de la vida de los margariteños durante más de 50 años y no se han expandido fuera de la isla, para mantener ese legado, esa tradición y ese sello único que los caracteriza de lo «Hecho en Margarita». Por eso hoy en este recorrido por la sede de Parque Costazul quiero contarles, porqué es mucho más que un supermercado para mí.

When we talk about SIGO, we also talk about the history and tradition of our island, something we are very proud of! Even before I lived here, it was a must-visit place to buy liquors, chocolates, and the famous bola cheese to share with the family. This supermarket chain has been part of the lives of Margaritans for more than 50 years and has not expanded outside the island in order to maintain that legacy, that tradition, and that unique hallmark that characterizes them as “Made in Margarita.” That's why today I want to tell you why it's much more than a supermarket to me. That's why today, on this tour of the Parque Costazul headquarters, I want to tell you why it's much more than just a supermarket to me.
Al entrar, te reciben unas paredes llenas de colores y de palabras que te levantan el ánimo : éxito, vida, amor, armonía, perseverancia y gracias serán algunas que irás leyendo mientras haces el recorrido. De fondo suena una música bien agradable, que te va acompañando y lo amplio de sus espacios hace que todo se sienta más cómodo y relajado. Como dice mi hijo las palabras tienen poder y aquí, se combina lo sensorial, lo auditivo y lo visual, haciendo que la experiencia de comprar sea mucho más especial.
Upon entering, you are greeted by walls full of colors and words that lift your spirits: success, life, love, harmony, perseverance, and gratitude are some of the words you will read as you make your way through the space. Pleasant music plays in the background, accompanying you, and the spaciousness of the store makes everything feel more comfortable and relaxed. As my son says, words have power, and here, the sensory, auditory, and visual elements combine to make the shopping experience much more special.
Puedo conseguir de todo un poco, desde productos nacionales hasta importados, como chucherías y chocolates que no encuentro fácilmente en otros lados como el Paria, Valle Canoabo, Toblerone y hasta bombones Bacci que son perfectos para regalar, acá disfrutan los catadores de buenos licores y cacao porque "El Bodegón" tiene una amplia variedad de bebidas, desde cervezas hasta rones, whiskies y ponches para todos los gustos.
I can get a little bit of everything, from domestic to imported products, such as sweets and chocolates that I can't easily find elsewhere, like Paria, Valle Canoabo, Toblerone, and even Bacci chocolates, which are perfect for gifts. Connoisseurs of fine spirits and cocoa will enjoy themselves here because “El Bodegón” has a wide variety of beverages, from beers to rums, whiskeys, and punches for all tastes.
Los pasillos de víveres y las neveras de la carnicería, charcutería y pescadería están súper ordenadas y todo bien empacado e impecable.Pero mi lugar favorito es la sección de las frutas y verduras, allí me paso un buen rato porque elegir entre todo lo que tienen para preparar ensaladas y jugos de la semana es alucinante.
The grocery aisles and refrigerators in the butcher, deli, and fish sections are super organized, and everything is well packaged and impeccable. But my favorite place is the fruit and vegetable section. I spend a lot of time there because choosing from everything they have to make salads and juices for the week is amazing.
Necesitaba comprar unas pastillas para el dolor de cabeza y unas vitaminas, así que fui a su farmacia y tenían varias marcas. Además tienen todo lo que puedas necesitar para tu cuidado personal, ya sea maquillaje, champú, cremas, protector solar, jabones y un montón de cosas más. Puedes decidir si pagar allí mismo o esperar hasta que hayas terminado de comprar y pagar en las cajas principales.
I needed to buy some headache pills and vitamins, so I went to their pharmacy and they had several brands. They also have everything you could possibly need for your personal care, whether it's makeup, shampoo, creams, sunscreen, soaps, and lots of other things. You can decide whether to pay right there or wait until you've finished shopping and pay at the main checkout counters.
Y en la sección del hogar, se encuentra todo lo que puedas necesitar: hay televisores, electrodomésticos, almohadas, toallas, sábanas... y en sus estantes hasta me encontré estas tazas de cerámica y otras de peltre con bonitos diseños alusivos a Margarita que me parecieron perfectas para llevarte a casa un pedacito de esta Isla o para regalar como recuerdo.
And in the home section, you'll find everything you could possibly need: televisions, appliances, pillows, towels, sheets... and on the shelves, I even found these ceramic and pewter mugs with beautiful designs alluding to Margarita, which I thought would be perfect for taking home a little piece of this island or giving as a souvenir.
Recomiendo con los ojos cerrados los productos de su propia marca de alimentos. Sus galletas son una locura, con combinaciones inusuales como chocolate blanco con arándanos, chocolate negro, nueces y sal marina. Las torticas de cambur, plátano o zanahoria son perfectas para acompañar el café de la tarde, y si se trata de celebraciones, mi favorita es la torta Chiffón de limón o parchita, porque son grandes, esponjosas y a un precio muy bueno.
I wholeheartedly recommend their own brand of food products. Their cookies are insane, with unusual combinations like white chocolate with blueberries, dark chocolate, walnuts, and sea salt. The banana, plantain, or carrot cakes are perfect to accompany your afternoon coffee, and when it comes to celebrations, my favorite is the lemon or passion fruit chiffon cake, because they are large, fluffy, and very reasonably priced.
Y por aquello de que tener plantas y flores crean ambientes más acogedores,me voy a la parte de la floristería, les digo qué flores quiero y me hacen unos arreglos bien bonitos que quedan perfectos para decorar mi hogar. También tienen suculentas y esas plantas tipo "kokedamas" que no usan macetas y que se ven demasiado originales dentro de la bola de tierra.
Because having plants and flowers creates a more welcoming atmosphere, I go to the florist's section, tell them what flowers I want, and they make me some really pretty arrangements that are perfect for decorating my home. They also have succulents and those “kokedama” plants that don't use pots and look really original inside the ball of soil.
Para terminar mi recorrido, hice mi última parada en la panadería-pastelería, donde el aroma del café y de pan caliente me llamaban. Miré la nevera y entre una variedad de postres fríos y secos ¿ Adivinen ? Pedí una torta chiffón, ésta vez de naranja, uff estaba buenísima, como ven es un pedazo grande que por supuesto compartí jajaja , comen dos fácilmente.
To finish my tour, I made my last stop at the bakery-pastry shop, where the aroma of coffee and warm bread beckoned me. I looked in the refrigerator and among a variety of cold and dry desserts, guess what? I ordered a chiffon cake, this time orange flavored. Wow, it was delicious! As you can see, it's a big piece, which of course I shared, ha ha ha. It easily feeds two people.
Otra de sus ventajas es que tiene su propia página web, donde se puede hacer compras online fácilmente y escoger, buscarla por tienda o que te la lleven por delivery .Y además ya cuentan con CASHEA. Sí, es verdad que hay otras cadenas de supermercados en nuestra Isla muy similares, que tienen precios más bajos, pero, sinceramente, creo que la calidad de sus productos, el servicio y la amabilidad que brindan en SIGO hacen una gran diferencia. Porque en definitiva, es fantástico disfrutar de una buena experiencia de compra desde que entras hasta que te despides del que te revisa la factura al salir✌️
Another advantage is that it has its own website, where you can easily shop online and choose to pick up your order at the store or have it delivered. And they also accept CASHEA. Yes, it's true that there are other supermarket chains on our island that offer lower prices, but honestly, I think the quality of their products, the service, and the friendliness they offer at SIGO make a big difference. Tienes razón amiga este es un supermercado que conocemos de toda la vida, recuerdo de niña ir a realizar mercado con mis padres a sigo, supieras que hace mucho tiempo no lo visitaba y hace una semana estuve por sigo el que queda en Sambil y quedé encantada, como dices allí hay de todo lo que busques.
Ese de costazul no lo conozco pero tengo que ir por un pedazo de torta como ese jajaja.
