A gift of nature

La Vida es una Piñata (1).jpg

The Indian reed plant, whose scientific name is Costus allenii Maas, is available in different areas regardless of climate.

This plant that I bring to the #hivegarden community I have in my small garden, that's what I call this space of land that I have in my patio, other plants I take care of and grow in pots or containers.

This plant came to my house after I used the leaves and the stems to drink water to cleanse the kidneys. The way I used it was to crush one or two stalks and put them in a litre of water, which I left in a container overnight and drank the next day with plain water, if I felt it was a bit strong I would add more water.

The person who recommended it to me was very clear when she told me to take it for only 15 days, as I am obedient I reflected the days I would take it, crossing out each day I took it.

Two times to complete the 15 days I went to her house to look for the plant.

The second batch of stems and leaves, at the end of the days of intake there were a few stems left and I decided to plant a small stem in a corner of the earth...every day I added water to it, for a few days I forgot about it, when I went to supervise it, it turned out that it had some leaves.

My husband was not very convinced to have this plant there, so it stayed there, it is still growing, it has leaves and a very beautiful flower, when I looked at it I was shocked by its beauty. I couldn't resist taking a picture and sharing it.

According to my research on this plant it says that it grows very tall, in the case of the one that adorns my small garden it has many leaves, I see that small plants grow around it, keeping their size small but with many leaves and well greened.

As I mentioned before, the flower caught my attention, I never imagined that this plant would produce such a beautiful flower. The shape of the place where it comes out and they look like folded handkerchiefs coming out each one of them from that little house where it was preparing to give its beauty.

The plant Caña la India is used as I mentioned at the beginning of this writing, as water prepared for the cleaning of the kidneys, some recommend boiling the stems, in my case I did it without boiling, it is a little bitter but drinkable when we want it to take effect for the benefit of our organism and the health of our organs.

Regarding the medicinal effects of it, many are reluctant to believe that it can have that effect, those who have been favoured with its use recommend it as I do. Furthermore, it is necessary to emphasise that one must be very careful with the indications and very disciplined in its use. Do not abuse its use.

In the researched pages the colours of its flowers as well as the shape have no resemblance with the one presented here... It is a different species, the certainty is that it is Indian cane and its use is highly recommended.
