Go out at night with your camera.
I bet you will look at things very differently through your camera lens.

May I introduce you to Maastricht by night.
A beautiful historic Dutch city.

I have visited this beautiful city dozens of times but only to shop or visit a theater.

Never to photograph let alone to do so in the dark.
But the result was certainly not a disappointment to me.

Starting off with my favorite in B&W.
Throughout the city you see rows of bikes.

That doesn't even surprise me anymore, that's what you grow up with in the Netherlands
In our country with only 17.5 million inhabitants, there are about 23.5 million bicycles.

And the second photo with a 13th century city gate looks more imposing in the dark than during the day.
Also does more justice to its name ´The Hell Gate´.

The last three pictures were taken at the most famous square in Maastricht, 'Het Vrijthof'.

From there you have a nice view of the St. John´s Church, some artwork illuminated by a single lamppost and the many cafes that have their terraces fully illuminated.

The photo I snapped of the church is taken from behind, but that doesn't diminish its appeal in any way.
The spotlights directed at it, helped a lot to create this effect.

The work of art standing in the square, a musician playing the cymbals, has a lonely expression in the dark.
As if he's looking for someone else to make music with.

Wonderful to see how the light and dark play with each other and conjure up beautiful scenes.

There will always be a light source that will give you enough light to take a beautiful, atmospheric or mysterious photograph.

I hope I have convinced and challenged you to go out in the dark.

Wishing you good luck

Greetings from The Netherlands

Nederlands

You should be posting these in #photography, and if you're posting this in the Liketu community, you won't need to list them first in the tag. I think you should be posting in a photography community, take some time and check other communities out for better results. Look at some rewards in those photo communities. This can also be posted with the pinmapple as well I believe. Talk to Britt and ask her about that.
This is a beautiful post, and also, the scenery is beautiful.

Thanks for your advice.
I have now followed that and made a new post in the ´Photography lovers´ community.

Sorry also for the late reaction but there is so much to deal with when you are just starting out.
It's all still a lot to read and respond to and so many places to post.
And then you have ordinary life besides that which also goes on.

Thank you for guiding me a bit.

Never worries, and also, do you not like Discord? I see you have not come back by nor answered in DM, which is okay if you're not comfortable there. Also, Discord does not take that long to learn, it goes quick; Hive, however, is a different story: number one rule, do NOT allow yourself to get overwhelmed, just learn a little at a time, and also, that is what we have The Terminal for, helping others to succeed on the blockchain.

Indeed, it is all a bit much.
And a lot of time goes into it, too.
Writing a post.
Taking and editing nice pictures.
Reading and responding to messages in Hive and Discord.
Figuring out how everything works.
And then you have your normal life, which goes on also. 😅

There are just too few hours in the day to do everything.

I dropped in on discord a few times but found it difficult to engage in the conversation. Since English is not my mother tongue, some conversations are hard to follow especially when a lot of abbreviations are used or certain linguistic jokes are made.

But I promise to just say hi from time to time.😉
