Where the Leaves Speak Louder than Words _ monomad daily chalenge

Hello to all my friends in the Black & White Community! This is Menti, back with another blog and another photo shoot!

This time, we dived into the heart of a quiet forest, surrounded by towering trees and an atmosphere full of solitude. Everything was perfectly set to create a new feeling—one of deep calm, not from noise or people, but from nature and simply being with yourself. Today’s shoot is a blend of stillness, softness, and the serenity only found deep within nature.

The model, styled in dark leather tones, sat among the fallen leaves. A large bouquet in her hands contrasted the roughness of the ground with delicate flowers. Natural light filtered through the trees, landing gently on her face like a divine spotlight. In some frames, a cup of coffee appears beside her—a silent nod to a moment of pause during a soulful walk.

It was a cool, slightly damp day. The moisture gave the leaves a soft shine, and the early morning light—during the golden hour—cast long, dreamy shadows. No artificial lighting was used; everything remained natural and raw. All photos were taken using a tripod, as the model and the photographer were the same person, which was one of the main challenges—especially in framing and focus.

Technically, the composition placed the subject on the golden ratio. A wide aperture blurred the forest background, keeping the face and flowers sharp. The leather pants and high boots added visual contrast to the organic setting, creating a striking harmony between woman and nature.

One of the hardest parts was expressing emotion in front of the camera without a photographer’s guidance. But the way she looked at the bouquet, or smiled gently while sitting by a tree holding a coffee, brought the whole series to life.
